EDFI MC Appoints Fadila Hamdane as Chief Partnerships & Development Officer

EDFI Management Company (EDFI MC) announced today the appointment of Fadila Hamdane as the new Chief Partnerships & Development Officer. In this newly created role, Ms. Hamdane will lead the Partnerships and Development Department and contribute to EDFI MC strategic growth and development.

BRUSSELS, 19 Dec 2023 – EDFI Management Company (EDFI MC) announced today the appointment of Fadila Hamdane as the new Chief Partnerships & Development Officer. In this newly created role, Ms. Hamdane will lead the Partnerships and Development Department and contribute to EDFI MC strategic growth and development.

Fadila Hamdane brings a wealth of experience and expertise in development finance and managerial skills to her new position. Prior to joining EDFI MC, she served in capacities at Proparco and its Corporate Financing – Manufacturing, Agribusiness & Services team. She played an instrumental part in the growth and success of that organisation.

Rodrigo Madrazo, Chief Executive Officer of EDFI MC, commented Fadila Hamdane’s appointment, saying, “Fadila brings extensive experience in development finance and a deep-rooted network within the European development financial institutions. Both strengths will undoubtedly bolster our business development efforts and reinforce EDFI MC’s position as a main player in supporting the private sector in emerging and developing countries.”

Throughout her tenure as a leader of the MAS team, Hamdane established strong relationships with European development finance institutions, including DEG, FMO, BIO, as well as multilateral institutions like IFC and EDFI Management Company itself. Her expertise in building and nurturing partnerships will be pivotal in her new role as she represents EDFI MC and fosters collaboration with various stakeholders, including the EDFI Association and the European Commission, and especially in the key role that her new department will play in the implementation of EFSD+ –the European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus) Guarantee proposals.

In the post, which started on 1 December, she will play a central role in advancing EDFI MC’s mission and vision through the development of new and innovative financial products and services. Additionally, she will oversee the preparation and negotiation of new mandates, as well as the management of co-financing and risk-sharing facilities. Her responsibilities will also encompass providing advisory inputs to other stakeholders in their interactions with the European Commission.
