 About EDFI Management Company (EDFI MC)

We empower entrepreneurship in frontier and emerging markets.

EDFI Management Company is an impact-driven investment manager created to tackle today’s sustainable development challenges.

We support entrepreneurs and companies driving positive change in sectors such as agriculture and renewable energy, through:

  • direct investments in private companies,
  • guarantees and partnerships with European Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to mobilise additional private capital.

We manage two Market Development Facilities:

  • AgriFI – Agricultural Financing Initiative
  • ElectriFI – Electrification Financing Initiative

These EU-funded initiatives close long-term financing gaps and stimulate private-sector growth—while ensuring high leverage, strong additionality, and measurable impact.

🎯 Your Role – ESG & Impact Intern

Join the ESG & Impact team and contribute to strengthening EDFI MC’s impact systems and analyses. Your work will directly support reporting to DFIs, the European Commission, and internal decision-making.

🔎 Your Key Responsibilities
  • Support the documentation, reporting and monitoring of environmental, social and development indicators.
  • Collect, clean and verify impact datasets for ongoing and completed investments.
  • Analyse impact data and prepare visualisations using Excel and other tools.
  • Contribute to development-effect analyses, dashboards and internal/external presentations.
  • Assist in modelling indirect impacts using the Joint Impact Model (JIM).
  • Help update monitoring tools, databases and methodological documents.
  • Contribute to communication and reporting deliverables, including the 2025 Impact Report, quarterly updates for the European Commission, and impact stories.
🧑‍💻 Your Profile

We welcome Master’s students from diverse fields:
Engineering – Finance – Economics – Data Science – Sustainability – Political Science – International Development.

✔️ You bring

  • Strong interest in sustainability, development, impact, or private-sector solutions.
  • Good command of Excel; Power BI is an advantage.
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent command of English (French, Spanish or Dutch are a plus).
  • Good communication skills, team spirit, curiosity and autonomy.

 Additional Assets

  • Familiarity with the SDGs or Development Finance Institutions.
  • Experience in ESG, impact investing, development cooperation or data analysis.
  • Knowledge of monitoring & evaluation (M&E) tools or methodologies.
  • Experience developing datasets or dashboards.
