Emerging Cooking Solutions to optimise call centre operations with Technical Assistance from EDFI Management Company

Lusaka, Zambia and Brussels, Belgium – 5 December 2025 — Emerging Cooking Solutions Zambia (ECS), a clean cooking company providing SupaMoto pellets and gasifying stoves to households and businesses, is receiving technical assistance from EDFI Management Company through the ElectriFI Zambia Country Window facility. This support will help ECS optimise the performance of its customer call centre, which plays a central role in managing a large client base, safeguarding customer satisfaction and minimising default rates.

In 2024, ElectriFI, the EU-funded electrification facility managed by EDFI Management Company, committed a EUR 1.5 million investment in ECS through the ElectriFI Country Window Zambia to support the scale-up of clean cooking solutions and expand access to modern energy services for households and small businesses.

SupaMoto is Emerging Cooking Solutions’ flagship modern cooking solution, combining high-efficiency gasifying stoves with sustainably produced biomass pellets to offer a cleaner, safer and more reliable alternative to charcoal and firewood for households and small businesses in Zambia. The SupaMoto system significantly reduces indoor air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions while lowering fuel costs over time, helping customers transition away from traditional fuels that drive deforestation and health risks.

The initiative aligns with EDFI Management Company’s objective to combine tailored financing and advisory services to boost the operational resilience of its investees, enabling them to deliver greater climate, health and livelihood benefits for low-income households.

The EDFI Management Company’s support to SupaMoto falls under its dedicated window ElectriFI Zambia, a strategy funded by the 11th European Development Fund for Zambia and designed specifically for the country, in close collaboration with the government, local authorities and the EU delegation to Zambia and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).
